This  HIPS Child Exploitation Toolkit  has been developed to support professionals working with children who may be/are at risk of child exploitation. It provides a range of information, resources and practical tools to strengthen the multi-agency safeguarding response to exploitation.

This tour of the ‘ HIPS Child Exploitation Toolkit ’ is intended to support professionals in becoming more familiar with the information, tools and resources available within the toolkit, to strengthen their response when supporting children who are at risk of exploitation..

The  HIPS and 4LSAB Serious Violence Toolkit  has been produced to support professionals in delivering a co-ordinated approach to preventing serious violence, and improve the identification, protection, and support for victims, survivors, and their families. The information, tools and resources within the toolkit are designed to improve the ways in which children’s needs and risks are understood, recognised and responded to.

• Understand the dynamics of an abusive relationship as it relates to LGBTQ+ couples and identify LGBTQ+ specific tactics of power and control.
• Navigate language and definitions relating to LGBTQ+ identities and understand the historical and national legislation that has and continues to influence LGBTQ+ people’s lives.
• Understand the key issues in LGBTQ+ relationships, recognise the barriers and challenges that the LGBTQ+ people experience within society.
• Improve confidence for professionals in responding to and discussing domestic abuse within LGBTQ+ relationships.
• To recognise and reframe how your work might intersect with LGBTQ+ survivor experiences.

•  Apply Cultural Competency: Implement culturally sensitive and unbiased approaches when engaging with survivors, ensuring respectful and effective communication that considers the survivor's background and experiences.
•  Identify and Address Harmful Practices: Recognise signs of harmful cultural practices and understand their impact on victims, enabling appropriate and informed responses. Harmful practises including forced marriage, child marriage, FGM, breast ironing, corrective rape, acid attacks, widow rituals will be included in the training
•  Utilise Intersectional Approaches: Strengthen their practice by applying intersectional approaches that address the unique challenges faced by Black and minoritised communities, ensuring interventions are safe, effective, and culturally appropriate.
