HIPS Procedures

The IOWSCP collaborates with Hampshire, Portsmouth, and Southampton LSCP's to develop shared policies and procedures that guide safeguarding practice across the HIPS region. These are published on the joint HIPS Procedures website, which offers accessible, up-to-date chapters aligned with Working Together to Safeguard Children.

STOP packs

Safeguarding Theme Overview Packs (STOP) offer agencies a one-stop collection of essential tools and resources focused on specific safeguarding themes. Each pack is designed to support effective practice, and some also include materials and signposting for parents and carers.

Strategies and Toolkits

The IOWSCP, in collaboration with Hampshire, Portsmouth, and Southampton (HIPS) LSCPs, has developed a series of free toolkits on a range of safeguarding themes to support practitioners — both paid and voluntary — working with children. These toolkits reflect the regional safeguarding strategies and offer practical guidance for professionals across all agencies in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight areas. All the toolkits are hosted on the Hampshire LSCP website.

Safeguarding Practice Weeks

Safeguarding Practice Weeks are held throughout each year and are an opportunity to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues and the resources available to support practitioners.

Partnership Newsletters
