All organisations with children and families are responsible for ensuring that their staff and volunteers are confident and competant in carrying out their responsibilities for safeguarding children. Staff should have access to appropriate development oportunites to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to identify and respond to abuse and neglect.
The partnership provides a fully funded, multi-agency learning and development programme for those who work with children and families on the Isle of Wight.
The partnership is developing elearning and presentations for voluntary and community groups to use as part of their safeguarding processes.
The Council's Learning and Development Resource Centre provides a wide range of resources to assist with professional development. Some courses may charge a fee.
